February 23, 2010

Tag Heuer Silverstone Limited Edition Chronograph

We just met with our friends from Tag Heuer who were excited to share their brand-new limited edition Silverstone chronograph with us. Because of our enthusiasm for the product and strong relationship with Tag Heuer, Ben Bridge is pleased to be one of the first retailers anywhere in the world to offer it for sale!

See the watches on

There is a fascinating story behind this piece. To celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary, Tag Heuer re-created a watch originally released in 1974. The cushion-shaped watch was named Silverstone after the famed British racetrack located outside of London. The unique shape evokes the layout of the Silverstone racetrack which was built as a RAF bomber base during World War II.

The case is 42mm in diameter and available with either a blue dial and blue perforated alligator strap or a brown dial and brown perforated alligator strap. The movement is a Tag Heuer Calibre 11 with a Dubois-Depraz module. The watch recognizes the company’s heritage by incorporating the vintage Heuer logo on the dial, crown and decorated rotor. Both colors are limited to 1500 pieces worldwide and are $6500 each.

We are supposed to receive the first watches at the end of this week. Order one now or call your personal jeweler to grab one for you so you can be the first kid on any block with this very stylish piece!

I can’t decide which color I like better, what do you think of it? Which color would you order? -Marc

Valentine’s Stories: Stephanie Woods

February 11, 2010

Stephanie Woods of our Accounting Department shares her favorite Valentine’s Day memories and most loved traditions. Happy Valentine’s Day Stephanie and Barrett! -Marc

My first Valentine’s Day with my husband Barrett, then boyfriend, was a very special day.  Not only did he pamper me that day with a pedicure and manicure, beautiful flowers and an elegant dinner, but he also proposed to me that evening!

Since that memorable first, Barrett has made a tradition each year of getting me a beautiful bouquet of flowers that he’s had specially arranged for me, followed by an amazing dinner at Anthony’s HomePort in Edmonds.  But, this year our Valentine’s Day is bound to be different, we have our little bubba boo to spend it with!  My perfect Valentine’s Day this Sunday will include having the entire day to spend with Barrett and Carter (aka little bubba boo); a bouquet of flowers; a delicious dinner ala Stephanie, maybe steak and lobster (Barrett’s fave); and a movie at home, preferably a romantic comedy (my fave).

I have to admit, I do love getting the gifts and flowers for Valentine’s Day, but what makes it even more special for me is that it’s a day that everything that we’re going through in life gets put on hold, so that we can spend time together, just loving each other!

Valentine’s Stories: Leighton Ebert

February 10, 2010

Leighton met his bride to be, Meghan Bartholomew, at Ben Bridge. He takes care of our stores with a particular focus on helping them get the right watches for their clients. Happy Valentines Day Leighton and Meghan! -Marc

What does Valentine’s day represent for me?  That’s a good question, and one that’s changed quite a bit over the years.

I think in today’s fast paced, tumultuous world, just being with someone you care about is really all that matters.

For me, and fortunately my fiancée, dinner and a movie (of her choice of course) seem to work out great – this year it’s sushi and “Valentine’s Day”.  If you ask anyone who truly knows me, they’ll certainly say I do my best to be as anti-clichéd as possible, but as hard as I may try, I don’t think I’ve ever gone wrong with flowers, a card and some chocolates, either.

As I’ve learned throughout the years, if she’s happy then I’m happy.

Ben Bridge Donates Carpet to Habitat for Humanity

February 9, 2010

Today – February 9th, Ben Bridge Jeweler was happy to be supporting our community again with a donation to the Seattle Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Ben Bridge Associates Scott Johnson and Nick Vermeer help loan a pallet of carpet in a truck for Habitat for Humanity

We were able to put to good use an entire pallet of extra carpet from past store construction/remodeling projects along with three cases of surplus lighting fixtures no longer used in our stores. The total amount of carpet donated was 1,450 sq. ft. – that’s more than enough to cover (10) 12’x 12’ rooms.

Thanks to Scott Johnson, Lander Chin, and Nick Vermeer for arranging this donation and to Nick for putting together this post!
